Summer Holiday Performing Arts Programme 09



Montage Theatre Arts Summer Programme
in Partnership with Lewisham College

For young people aged 5 – 14 years based in fantastic purpose-built studios at Lewisham College, Lewisham Way, SE4 1UT.

A 3-week programme of arts activities with a performance to family and friends at the end of each week!

Each week can be booked separately. All welcome and no experience necessary! Children are grouped by age and teachers are experienced, qualified, friendly and police-checked.

WEEK 1: SHOWTIME! “Little Shop of Horrors”
The fabulous musical comedy hits Lewisham! Join us in this musical theatre performance workshop of this specially-adapted infamous show with a fantastic collection of broadway-style songs, conveying the tale of a meek flower-shop assistant who nurtures a rare species of talking plant with an interesting appetite!! Daily classes in dance, drama and singing and perform the show on the final day in full costume and make-up in Montage's own inimitable style!
Dates: 27th-31st July. Mon – Thurs 9.30am-2.00pm.
Fri 9:30am – 3:30pm
Show starts at 2:30pm

Week 2:
ACTIVATE!: Dance & Drama
5 days of fun dance taster workshops including tap, ballet, disco and street jazz. Also, daily classes in comedy drama using vocal skills, story-telling, physical theatre, improvisation and games.
Dates: 3rd –7th August 9.30am-4.30pm

Week 3: ELECTRIC STORIES: Make A Film
Note: for 8 – 14 years

Create a story using digital technology in just one week! Get involved in writing, storyboarding, filming, editing, effects, projection and performance. Showpiece your work at the end of the week using the film you have made and perform with it live.
Dates: 10th–14th August 9.30am- 4.30pm
Tutors: Hannah Mason (digital/media), Rebekah Manning (drama)

Cost per week: Full rate £120 or £75 concessions

Classes run on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in tap, musical theatre, street jazz, breakdancing, drama, ballet, singing, Youth Theatre Company, Street Dance/disco and so much more...

Adults - join our Dance for Fitness and Tap classes! Beginners welcome!

With 5 classes for 3 - 5 year olds in music, singing, dance, drama and ballet on Saturday mornings!

Montage Summer Term Diary Dates!

Venue: Next to Mayor of London’s Building, London Bridge.
Meet: 9am for 9.05 train, Brockley Station. Judy and Charlene with Levels 1, 2 & 3 and parents
Show Title: Seasons – a dance
Groups Taking part: Crossways Sat School: Levels 1, 2 & 3 Dancers.
The groups will return to Crossways immediately after the show with the teachers and parents to continue working on drama and singing for Lewisham People’s Day.

London Youth Games: Sat 4th July, Time to be confirmed between 11am and 3pm.

Lewisham People’s Day: Saturday 11th July,

Saturday 27th June: 12 – 1pm: Drama demo for Crossways students with Bernadette.

9.15am – 10am: Early Starters and Saturday Ballet, Crossways in the main hall. Prendergast in the main hall.

Tuesday 7th July:
4.45pm – 5.15pm: Drama 1 demonstration with Keri.
No demos for Leigh’s classes as they are performing in People’s Day

Friday 10th July:
4.45pm – 5.15pm Ballet with Leigh
4.45pm – 5.15pm Drama 2 with Ben
5.45pm – 6.15pm Drama 3 with Ben

'Re:Generation' A new one-hour MTA play funded by Awards for All created and performed by Montage drama students, young and old!
Saturday 28th November 09. Showing at 5:00pm and 7:00pm
Groups performing: Prendergast Saturday School Levels 1 – 3.
Venue: Prendergast Main Hall – transformed!!
